We report with great sadness the first death attributable to the coronavirus at Fox Hill as of yesterday. We have three other residents with confirmed positive tests, and two more assumed cases, namely, the spouses of two confirmed cases. Five staff members at Fox Hill have tested positive. The assisted care program continues to operate on a scaled-back basis.
It is with deep regret that we also share with you that two elders at White Oak Cottages who tested positive last week have passed away. Six other elders in the same cottage are positive, and three staff members. We believe that the asymptomatic staff unknowingly exposed elders to this virus.
We extend our deepest sympathies to the family and the friends of those whom we have lost, as well as to the staff who cared so attentively to them. We remain focused on keeping you safe and comfortable, and believe that together we will come through this challenge.
Thanks to everyone for their continued observation of social distancing and restricted travel outside of Fox Hill. We know how difficult it is for you to live with these constraints, and we appreciate your willingness to accept these measures for the greater good of the community.
