COVID-19 Update: May 6, 2020

Fox Hill Village

There have been no new cases of coronavirus at Fox Hill since April 28. To date, 7 residents have tested positive for the virus. One resident passed away last week, and sadly, a second resident passed away this week. Of the remaining 5 residents, 1 has fully recovered, and the other 4 residents continue to recover.

We have increased staff testing, sending 6 to 10 staff members daily in a pro-active effort to identify those who may be asymptomatic carriers. We have tested 61 employees to date, with 5 positive results. Those employees are quarantined but doing well. In the last week, the tests for all staff members were negative. We continue to seek expanded testing as an essential tool for securing the community.

White Oak Cottages

There have been no new covid cases at White Oak Cottages since April 28. All elders and staff at Acorn Cottage at White Oak remain virus free. A total of 9 elders in Woodland have tested positive. Two of those elders have passed away, 1 is recovering in a nursing home, and 6 are recovering at Woodland Cottage.

A few more updates:

Our staff members have tracked down over 1,000 pieces of personal protective equipment (PPE), giving us adequate supplies for the foreseeable future.

Mask wearing is mandatory for Fox Hill residents in the common areas and outside.

We will continue to update you as warranted by changes in our community. Your co-operation in wearing masks and social distancing, along with the heroic work of our staff, demonstrate how a village can pull together through challenging times. We thank you for your commitment and patience, and ask for your continued support in the weeks ahead.
