ASSISTED LIVING AT FOX HILL VILLAGE IN NORFOLK COUNTY, WESTWOOD, MA

It’s a new day for assisted living.

Birch Grove at Fox Hill Village is a new model for assisted living and continuing care. Located in Norfolk County’s Westwood, Massachusetts, Birch Grove is an adopter of the Green House® Project small-house model and an alternative to “the way things have always been done.” Here, you’ll find a caring community where you can be yourself. Where you’ll be seen as a person, not a patient. And where you can continue to learn, grow, and choose how you’ll live each day.

Assisted living at Birch Grove is designed for those people who find they can no longer live independently due to an advancing chronic condition. Yet, while many assisted living communities will provide only limited services before requiring a resident to move to a traditional, institutional nursing home, Birch Grove has been purposefully designed to accommodate residents’ current and future needs so they can remain in our community for life.

“Bill and I feel so fortunate that he can live at Birch Grove! The staff are amazing — such kind and sensitive people. You have thought of everything, and it all adds up to a wonderful place to be during a challenging time of life. Thank you!”

— Alice B.

We practice the fine art of caring.

The strength of Birch Grove’s model lies in the expanded roles of our care teams and the priority we place on each resident’s right to autonomy, engagement, and choice. Each of our assisted living and progressive care households is led by a small, dedicated team of cross-trained staff — including a nurse and certified nursing assistants — who get to know each resident as an individual. With a high staff-to-resident ratio, care teams oversee the day-to-day life of the home. And everything they do — from learning about residents’ life histories and providing personal care to preparing meals and planning events — is designed to accommodate individual choices and preferences.

Birch Grove is designed and staffed to make it possible for you to remain in the community for life. Unlike many assisted living residences, Birch Grove has a nurse on duty 24/7 to address any medical needs you may have. A high staff-to-resident ratio and multifaceted engagement create strong bonds and a deep understanding of each resident’s needs and preferences. In addition, another Birch Grove staff member plans and oversees a diverse program of activities and events designed around residents’ interests.

Be part of an engaging
community household.

Friendships and camaraderie develop in the household as residents engage in conversation around the fireplace or watch a movie or sporting event together in the living room. As in any home, the open kitchen and dining area become popular gathering spots where you can watch your meals being prepared, help with the cooking, or grab a light snack. There’s a den for small gatherings, impromptu games, reading or just visiting with friends, as well as an activity room for organized programs such as art classes. And since there are no long hallways or stairs to navigate, you’ll be able to easily move throughout the household as you wish.

Savor delicious meals
prepared before your eyes.

Food is not just an essential part of living. Meals provide daily opportunities to enjoy the company of friends, share stories and memories, and take part in a communal experience that nourishes the mind and spirit as well as the body. Whether you choose to participate in meal preparation or simply enjoy the sights, sounds, and aromas of delicious food being prepared in the household kitchen, you’ll always find something to savor and enjoy. You can even make special requests such as adding a family favorite to the menu, avoiding ingredients you don’t care for, or accommodating a special diet.
