The Job:

We are seeking a reliable and experienced Accounting Manager to join our team. As an Accounting Manager, you will report to the Chief Financial Officer and assist with month-end and year-end financial closing activities and other day-to-day accounting responsibilities.

The Accounting Manager will be responsible for completing tasks both independently and collaboratively and will ensure the accounting and financial processes of the company are up to accounting standards (GAAP) to provide accurate financial reporting and control.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and consolidate monthly and annual financial statements, actual to variance analysis.
  • Provide monthly, quarterly, and year-end analyses, reporting and analyzing cost variances.
  • Establish and maintain internal controls and work with other departments.
  • Manage all aspects of the general ledger, including reconciling, and preparing balance sheet and income statement schedules.
  • Manage certain treasury functions such as cash management and reconciliation of bank statements.
  • Coordinate and assist with the budget process and forecasting.
  • Prepare and deliver annual audit and tax packages, working with auditors and tax professionals to deliver clean audit results and timely tax reporting.
  • Supervise accounts receivable, accounts payable and general accounting processes, including, but not limited to, month-end closing procedures.
  • AD-hoc projects as requested by Supervisor.
  • Experience with Business Intelligence software (such as Microsoft Power BI, Tableau, Datarails, etc.) is a plus.

Job Requirements:

  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills, maintain all accurate records and backup.
  • Ability to work under pressure and in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to independently analyze and solve problems.
  • Ability to prioritize competing demands, allowing for the timely and accurate preparation of all deliverables.
  • Proven success managing a successful accounting team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal.

Education and/or Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting required.
  • At least five (5) or more years related experience, preferably in real estate or senior living.
  • Exceptional computer skills, with proficiency with Yardi (or other accounting software), Microsoft Office and data analysis and forecast modeling in Excel.
  • Excellent knowledge of accounting and financial processes (budgeting, financial closure, reporting etc.).

Physical Requirements:

  • Perform repetitive motion such as typing, bending, pushing/pulling, reaching, walking/standing, climbing stairs, or sitting for long periods of time.
  • Occasional lifting and carrying of equipment and supplies weighing 30 lbs. or less.
  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $120,000.00 per year
