Senior Health Services in Westwood, MA

A liberating plan for care.

As a Westwood, MA, retirement community, Fox Hill Village offers a continuum of senior care services on campus designed to provide your care as you need it, tailored so that you only pay for the services that you use:

  • An on-site health center staffed by physicians, nurse practitioners, and registered nurses from the premiere Brigham and Women’s Hospital.
  • A supportive care program supervised by a registered nurse and provided by certified nursing assistants (CNAs). This program is designed to maintain residents’ independence in the community and to provide support that can be given on a scheduled basis. It provides up to 10 hours of care over the course of a week in the resident’s apartment.
  • A Licensed Clinical Social Worker who provides support and guidance to residents dealing with changing health care needs. She oversees transitions to and from hospitals and other care settings, and offers support and education to groups of residents living with low vision, hearing loss and memory concerns.
  • Connections PT, a licensed outpatient therapy provider, offers physical therapy, occupational therapy and speech language therapy as directed by your physician.
  • Carefully chosen bi-weekly health lectures on a variety of health topics, given by local medical experts.
Brigham & Women's Health Care

We partner with a dedicated team of physicians and nurses from Brigham and Women’s Hospital to provide a superb care continuum for seniors on-site.

Drop-in Clinic

Recently relocated to expanded quarters in our new Baker West wing, the clinic is open every weekday morning to the entire Fox Hill community for drop-in consultations. It’s there for you should you wake up with a sore throat or have an ache or pain that you want evaluated.

Primary Care Services

Fox Hill residents may choose a Brigham and Women’s internist to become their primary care physician. These physicians see residents on-site.

Specialists' Care

If you are under the care of either a Brigham and Women’s or Massachusetts General Hospital physician, you can avoid the parking hassle and challenges of navigating a large hospital by using the Brigham and Women’s and Massachusetts General Hospital’s combined, state-of-the-art Health Center, including an urgent center in nearby Foxboro, Norfolk County, MA. This beautiful center provides specialty care in cardiology, gastroenterology, orthopedics and pain management, as well as diagnostic radiology and lab services. Additional specialty senior health care services are easily accessible at Brigham & Women’s Westwood University Station in Norfolk County, MA, just 10 minutes from Fox Hill Village.

Specialty On-Site Clinics

There are some services that we know our residents will need to access on a routine basis, and we have arranged specialty clinics to provide that care on site. These services include:

  • Flu clinics on a seasonal basis
  • Blood pressure clinics twice a week
  • Blood draw clinics once a week
  • Daily delivery of prescription drugs from Walgreens

We didn’t ever think we were going to need all this help this quickly, but we did when my husband’s health took a turn. I can’t thank everybody who works here enough for the care they give us.

Cutting Edge Chronic Care at Birch Grove

Our new assisted living residence, whose certification by the Executive Office of Elder Affairs is pending, will be located on the upper floors of Baker West.  It will provide compassionate, personal care and support in a beautiful setting to those with chronic conditions that exceed the scope of our supportive care program.  It too is part of the Green House® Project, consisting of two homes, each with 12 private suites with ensuite bathrooms.  Run by a team of nurses and certified nursing assistants, the goal is to provide engagement, encouragement and support to allow each resident to have a full and meaningful day, every day.  Should any Birch Grove resident need intermittent skilled care, a licensed home health care agency can provide such care on site.
